Michael Palin’s The Weekend was our spring production and extremely successful. Congratulations to Steve Humphrey for his excellent directing. We all thoroughly enjoyed it, on both sides of the footlights! Audience attendances were extremely good on all three nights. Victor Campkin’s character meant he was on stage for the whole production, almost two hours and with very lengthy dialogue. His achievement was rewarded by being presented by the Bursledon Players’ highest accolade, the BAFTA.

The action takes place at the middle-class home of Virginia and Stephen Febble. It’s a normal sort of weekend really. Virginia entertains as she likes to, the family descend, they deal with the dogs, Stephen’s imagination runs riot. Yes, a normal sort of weekend for the Febbles. But where will it all lead?
